The Dubai Metro Green Line (GL) comprises 20 stations — 14 elevated and 6 underground — extending approximately 18 km from the eastern side of Dubai International Airport through the historic and commercial districts of the city. Delivered as part of Dubai’s landmark rapid transit programme, the line required complex integration of elevated viaducts and underground works in a dense urban environment. Thirteen launching girders and two EPB TBMs were deployed to deliver this strategically important metro corridor, which has operated successfully since its commissioning in September 2011, forming a key component of Dubai’s public transport network.

Andreas Tauschinger served as Programme Director for the Green Line, appointed by the Parsons/Systra Joint Venture for a period of three years during the main construction phase. His leadership supported the coordination of multidisciplinary design, construction, and systems integration activities, contributing to the delivery of one of the region’s most prominent urban rail infrastructure projects and to the expansion of Dubai’s modern, high-capacity transport system.
